Newcastle is known for its coastal situation with lots of beaches
Situation
We don’t stay a long in Newcastle, but it has to be here. This is a city situated at 2h20 from Sydney, in the heart of the Hunter region, just next to the sea. It is a lively and diverse city, known for its nightlife and music. Also famous for its coal, Newcastle is the largest coal exporting harbour in the world, exporting 159.9 million tons of coal in 2017.
What to do
After a long drive, this is the perfect place to have a coastal walk along the sea, to stretch your legs. You can reached the lighthouse if you want, or just walk on the famous Newcastle beach or the Nobbys one. Otherwise, you can just walk on the path, lay on the sand and relax or have a swim. You’re free to choose what you want to do!
To sleep
To have a nice night, we booked you a cosy hotel named the “Lucky Hotel”. It is located just at 2 minutes by walk from the sea. The rooms are perfectly comfy and if you’re lucky, you could have a great view on the patio. And, sometimes, even often, there are little music events that take place in this patio. So you can enjoy the music directly from your room!
To Eat
We didn’t talk about the dinner… You can have your dinner in the Lucky’s Hotel restaurant, which do a really good food. They have salads, burgers and other simple things to eat around a beer with your travel mates. Also, the dining room is in the patio, so you can enjoy the music when you’re eating.
The Lucky Hotel is a cool place where you can spend friendly moments with mates.
After eating, you can enjoy the night life of Newcastle. There are bars along the coastal path where you can have a beer, cocktail, cider or even wine! If you’re not tired, you can dance in the pubs!
