Australia’s Harbour City, the glittering jewel in the east coast’s crown.
Situation
Sydney is the departing point of each tour of Via Travel. It is situated on the East Coast of Australia, in the New South Wales area. It’s a multicultural city, where you can find people from all over the world. Sydney is also a really huge city! For example, to go to Manly Beach, you have to take the boat for 15 minutes, and you’re still in Sydney. That’s crazy!
Now, what’s better than beginning by one of the most popular place of Australia?
Attractions/What to do
In this city, the most famous attractions are the « Opera House » and the « Harbour Bridge », that you will have the chance to see really close. You will be able to take lots of funny photos from there. These monuments are known in the entire world, so it’s something to check on your to do list. This place is wonderful when the sun is going down. You have a beautiful light, it’s calm and you just have to enjoy it. To access to them, you’ll have to go through “Circular Quay”, which is also a famous area in Sydney.
Near them, there is also the Botanic Gardens, which is a thing to do if you’re coming in Sydney. You can see a wide variety of plants, from almost everywhere. You can walk around the gardens, taking pictures or sit down on a bench.
But there are other things to do in Sydney, of course. You can reach the Bondi Beach, on the east side of Sydney. It is a surf spot, so you can enjoy the moment by looking at the surfers taking waves. There are lots of graffiti there. Lots of different styles! Enjoy a walk along the graffiti’s path and choose your favorite one to take a picture in front of it!
Another beach is Manly Beach, as I told just before. It is also a surf spot which welcomes the Vissla Sydney Surf Pro. This is an international competition with the best surfers of the world who compete for the World Championship. Over 20 countries are representing on these days. It began on the 15th march 2019 and ended on the 24th of march 2019. To reach the beach, you have to take the boat at the Circular Quay. It costs 18 dollars return and it lasts around 15 minutes, with an amazing view on the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. If you have the chance to take your return when the sun is going down, it’s way better because you’ll have a night view on Sydney. Wahou!
Dinner
After a long day walking in Sydney, we bring you to a Thai restaurant named Nung Len. They have a large choice of plates, for everyone. Even if you’re vegetarian, or gluten free, you’ll find what suits you. The flavors are super nice, I recommend this place, for sure.
To sleep
Then, you need a good sleep. For that, the Macleay Hotel will be perfect for you. The rooms are really nice, clean, comfortable and calm. The bathroom is quite large so you can feel at home. You also have a small kitchen if you need a coffee or a tea before to go to sleep. The view of the hotel is really cool because it is just above the Elisabeth’s Bay. Elisabeth’s Bay is so nice. There are lots of boats, palm trees, beach and a super view on the river.
Breakfast
On the morning, we eat the breakfast at Gypsy Espresso. They do awesome food to well begin the day. Vegetables, cereals, fruits, bread, eggs… Hot chocolate, coffee, tea… Welcome in the breakfast’s paradise!
