Make your way to the hinterland of southern Queensland, where ancient, World Heritage rainforest, tens of thousands of years of Indigenous stories and culture, and small community hospitality make for an Australian getaway full of food, beaches, walks, culture and amazing nature experiences each day. Spend your days supporting local communities, learning from Indigenous guides on river cruises and bush tucker walks, or spotting wildlife in landscapes found nowhere else, and your nights in memorable, hand-picked accommodation. Meet your fellow travel buddies at 9am at the Pacific Hotel. We head south to Lamington National Park which has a vast area of undisturbed subtropical rainforest, 100 miles of walking tracks and over 500 waterfalls – It’s known for its section of the ancient Gondwana Rainforests, home to the rare Albert’s lyrebird. It’s got an incredibly rich history, outstanding natural values and that’s why it’s a World Heritage Listed area.
After we check into the hotel we explore the area with some fantastic bushwalking, bird watching and a special, up close and personal experience with our own private park ranger taking us on a stunning 2 to 3 hour soft hike, past through the rainforest, discover amazing waterfalls and marvel at the huge vines and keep your eyes peeled for the rare Alberts Lyrebird.
Enjoy the amazing tree top walk as you pass through the forest canopy. After free time for dinner, why not join an optional glowworm experience that begins at 8.30pm.

Enjoy an included early morning bird guided bird watching session before breakfast – 1-hour flora and fauna guided walk (or enjoy a sleep in if you are not an early riser). Swap the rainforest for the sea, as we make explore the coastal sights en-route to our special afternoon activity.
This afternoon, connect with the first nations people in the area, on a stunning 2-hour cultural cruise. Storytelling, didgeridoo and entertainment is provided by your Indigenous Storyteller Guide as you cruise to sites of cultural significance, places for hunting and gathering, and places where Dreamtime stories and songs originated. Spot seabirds, turtles and dolphins as you enjoy an array of delicious bush-tucker inspired catering that brings the flavours and textures of rainforest and the ocean to life. Served with a refreshing local craft beer or sparkling wine. We take a short drive through the picturesque Glass House Mountains, rich with glistening lakes, waterfalls and parklands, home to mobs of wild kangaroos and more. After checking into our accommodation, unwind or explore charming Montville.

This morning we make our way to explore Rainforest-clad peaks that shelter the largest stand of ancient bunya pines in the world. Discover cool mountains, rainforests and waterfalls, unique range-top grasslands, panoramic views, colourful birdlife and enthralling stories of times long ago. This afternoon we make our way up to the alpine mountain via steep, narrow and winding roads with amazing views. We meet a friendly first nations ranger who will take us on a guided walk through the ancient forest to discover hidden gems and learn about the history, culture, flora and fauna.

Start the day by exploring more of the beautiful Bunya the mountains on a fantastic walk. Enjoy a boutique wine tasting in the afternoon and a fantastic delicous dinner in the evening.

After slow morning at leisure, we make our way back to Brisbane via Toowoomba (Free time to buy your own lunch from amazing selection of funky cafes) and take a last hike up to the stunning table top mountain lookout. Tour returns to in the late afternoon to the Pacific Hotel, Brisbane.
Included Activities:
Must be 18+ to travel on the tour unless an approved minor (8-17 years old) is accompanied by an adult. All guest must be young in spirit & active enough to participate daily in light to medium walks, some lasting up to 2 hours.
