What to Do on the West Coast of Australia 

  1. Visit Ningaloo ReefAs a World Heritage Site, Ningaloo Reef promises beautiful marine life like whale sharks (they’re harmless), humpback whales, manta rays and corals. Whether you want to get in the water and snorkel or appreciate its wonder from a glass-bottom boat, it’s an experience not to miss. Here is everything you need to know before you go. 
  2. The Pinnacles at Nambung National ParkAt more than 25,000 years old, the limestone Pinnacles at Nambung National Park are as cool as they are mysterious. Like something out of a sci-fi movie, these natural marvels can be up to 3.5m tall. 
  3. Kalbarri National Park SkywalkSuspended 100 metres in the air overhanging the gorge, the Kalbarri Skywalk provides incredible views as you walk out onto two cantilevered viewing platforms. Plus you’ll discover Aboriginal artwork, as well as how the gorges were created during your visit. 
  4. Lancelin Sand DunesNorth of Perth is the largest sand dunes in Western Australia, located in the picturesque town of Lancelin. From stunning panoramic views, best seen at dusk and dawn, to 45-degree angled dunes that you can sandboard down or use your dirt bike. 
  5. Eagle Bluff LookoutStroll along the boardwalk to enjoy an uninterrupted view of the sea and Shell Beach below at Eagle Bluff Lookout. Keep an eye out for stingrays, sharks, dugongs and other beautiful marine life in this sheltered bay. 
  6. Swim in Kermit’s PoolKermit’s Pool is the prize after working your way through narrow canyons and the Handrail Pool Hike at Hancock Gorge. Best experienced with a tour guide, Kermit’s Pool is a stunning mini-adventure by itself in Western Australia’s most famous national park, Karijini.

Gwoonwardu Mia Gascoyne Aboriginal Heritage and Cultural CentreBased in Carnarvon, this award-winning exhibition centre has worked with the five Aboriginal language groups in the Gascoyne region to create an interactive, immersive experience that celebrates their culture, stories, and heritage. 
  3. Didgeridoo Dreaming Night TourImmerse yourself in Aboriginal culture surrounding yourself with the ancient sounds of the didgeridoo, and listen to the stories of First Nations people complete with Bushtucker in Monkey Mia. 
  4. HMAS Sydney II MemorialServing as a poignant reminder and memorial of the 645 men who lost their lives when the ship was sunk on the 19th of November 1941, the HMAS Sydney II Memorial in Geraldton has been thoughtfully created with a stunning backdrop as a dedication for their families. 
  5. Vlamingh Head LighthouseCatch a breathtaking sunset at Vlamingh Head Lighthouse in Exmouth which is over 100 years old. At the lookout, you can see the site of a World War 2 radar station, and be in with a chance to spot majestic humpback whales breaching during the migration season (June – October).
