Be active, Explore, Taste and Enjoy your trip to Australia
1. Explore: Live Music in Newcastle
Sitting 162kms north of Sydney and East of the gorgeous Hunter Valley Wine Region is New South Wales second most populous city – the Sunny Port of Newcastle.
Throughout the 70s and 80s, this urban metropolis established as not only a thriving mining port but also a heaving cultural location for live music.
Live music is not guaranteed on every Via Travel East Coast Australia Tour, but the good news is that we stay in the Boutique Lucky Hotel, where the centre of the property is one of the best beer gardens on the East Coast of Australia, so you can enjoy a relaxed evening and walk straight up to your room for a good night sleep.
2. Taste: Fresh seafood in Forster/Tuncurry
There is a certain sweetness to eating the freshest of fresh seafood straight from the catch! We stop by a fish co-op for your chance to buy local seafood for lunch. Eat local & experience the best of Australia’s East coast.

3. Be Active: Dangar Falls in Dorrigo NP
A hidden treasure on the East Coast of Australia is the stunning dense rain forest in Dorrigo National Park, which is home to all kinds of beautiful plants and wildlife.
A small walking trail rewards you with a swim at the bottom of a beautiful cascading waterfall. The perfect opportunity for refreshment and of course photos!

4. Taste: Organic Field to fork experience in Byron Bay
The growing movement of organic farming throughout Australia is something which has gained in popularity for good reasons.
We stop in the iconic surf side town of Byron Bay, for a lunch which is not only educational and healthy, but extremely delicious!
5. Local: Aboriginal family experience in Tully
One of our favourite stops on the Via Travel East Coast Australia itinerary is our visit to Tully where we meet the Jefferies family for a contemporary and educational Indigenous experience with dinner.
Apart hitting these hidden gems, we also visit East Coast of Australia must do’s – Sydney, the Great Barrier Reef, the Whitsunday Islands and Cairns.
