Hi My name is Zoe and I am a French intern gaining work experience with Via Travel Australia. Via Travel booked me onto one of their tours so I could experience it first hand and write about it so that you, as the traveller reading this now, can see some honest feedback. When we first think about travelling in group, we think disadvantages. But not with Via Travel. As they provide small groups trips from 1 person up to 16, there are more advantages than disadvantages. See the following:
1. Make friends
It’s easier within a small group to make new friends as you get to know each other throughout the trip and the shared experiences. You will share lunches or dinners with your travel mates and learn more about them. I’m quite sure that you will have at least one thing in common with them: travel! Having new friends makes the experience better.
- « Family mood»
As the tour is going on always with the same several people, we feel like a « small family ». We are sharing all our discoveries, feelings, emotions & fears… together.
- Guide spend more time on things
In a big group trip, the guide will continuously need to check if everybody is there or accounted for. They will be everywhere with less time for the individual. Whereas in small group trips, it’s easier to manage the schedule and then the guide will be less stressed, more with us, happier to take us to discover off the beaten track Australian places! Then they will spend more time on explaining things, or maybe they will take the time to bring you to new places that are not in the program. It feels like a « private tour!
Our guide even had time to take awesome pictures with us!
- Share feelings together
At the end of each day, in a small group, you can meet your new friends for a beer, a wine or a cider to share your feelings about all the adventures that day. It feels like family or friends meeting as you all get more familiar with each other as the day’s progress. And by the end of the tour you may have made lifelong friendships!
