Hello travel lovers
My name is Maria, I’m Spanish and I’ve visited Australia a few times. In this blog I’m going to talk about traveling to the East Coast of Australia.
I’ve explored the East Coast of Australia, from Sydney to Cairns, several times. I was living in Sydney for a while so from there I used to take flights to discover individual places like Byron Bay, Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef, or the Whitsundays. This kind of trips are short and only allow you to visit some key places, but I can assure that the East Coast of Australia has a lot more to offer than just the top five most visited spots on the East Coast of Australia.
In January 2019 I decided to join an extended trip along the East Coast of Australia with Via Travel, from Sydney to Cairns. I joined an organised tour during 14 days in a small group tour. To be honest I never join tours, but this one catch my attention because of the places they were discovering, being some of the key highlights to discover on the East Coast of Australia: Sydney, Hunter Valley Wine Region, Dorrigo National Park, Byron Bay, Fraser Island, Whitsundays, Mission Beach, Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef. All the key highlights in one tour with 14 people. I decided to give it a go.
If you think of the kilometers you do in 14 days, its a lot, but Australia its huge and we would need months to discover it all. 14 days was a good amount of time for me to discover iconic locations along the East Coast of Australia in a small group tour. There are places where I would have stayed for weeks, but at least we had time to see the lifestyle at each place, do some tourism around and join some organised activities.
My experience was very good and I would recommend the 14 day East Coast Tour with Via Travel from Sydney to Cairns. I got to discover a lot in a short time, and then in the future I can decide if I want to go back for longer to places I’ve already seen. Hope this blog brings some light to you.
