The Hunter Valley is the place to taste the real Aussie during our tours
Situation
Today it’s all about tasting! The Hunter Valley is known for its wine and its chocolate. It is an area of 29 145 square kilometres, which is really huge. The landscape is full of hills and vineyards and you can drive kilometres and kilometres with almost the same scenery. This is a green green green area.
What to do
Look at the different places to taste things:
-To taste the local wine, Allandale is the best place. They have a large choice of different wines to make you taste and they have great advice for you;
-To taste the chocolate, you can go to the Hunter Valley Chocolate Company, where you can find all sort of chocolates from the whitest one to the darkest one;
-For cheese you can head to Binnorie Dairy, to try good cheese. They especially have goat cheese, but you’ll make discoveries for sure;
-After eating all that stuff, you need an after-dinner liquor. For that, rendez-vous to the Hunter Distillery! Here, you can find Vodka, Liquor or Gin with a lot of original tastes! I recommend you the Caramel Vodka and the Passion Fruit Liquor, they are really good!
The Hunter Valley is full of nature and you can find National Parks, like “Yengo National Park” or “Werakata National Park” in which you can walk for hours. There is also the big “St Clair” Lake where you can swim, sail, or even picnicking.
This area is also full of arts and culture. That’s why you can go and discover the Wollombi aboriginal culture to learn more about the real locals, or go through the handmade market to buy an “Australian made” souvenir.
If you like golfing, it is definitely the place to be! With its multiple Golf Clubs, offering a blend of lifestyle, recreation and refinement, you will not be bored.
If you want to bring souvenirs to your family or friends, it is one of the best place during the tour to buy things. Because it’s locally make and you can’t find the same things anywhere else.
