White, Rosé and Red wine are produced in this area. Australia is known for its wine, and they’re really exceptional! Everybody can try and discover their favourite wine. Allandale winery is a great backdrop for this, with a friendly and passionate staff, they will guide you all the way, describing each wine, the processes, grapes used and many other interesting facts and stories about the region. It’s never too late to appreciate wine and for me at the age of 20 years old, I finally discovered that I like wine, even red wine! But only the sweetest ones… That’s a beginning for a French woman.
Enough about wine, let’s talk about cheese, vodka, gin, liquor and chocolate.
Yes, you can also taste these things in the Hunter Valley. It’s a magical place if you like food and drinks! In the « Hunter Distillery », you can taste vodka, gin and liquor. In my experience, I recommend that you definitely try the passion fruit liquor and the caramel vodka, they are amazing! If you’re keen this is a great opportunity to buy some souvenirs for your family!
Now, the place to taste cheese is the « Binnorie Dairy », with a large choice of products just get stuck into the different tasting platters, from olives, cheese, olive oils and the list goes on… For chocolate, go to the « Hunter Valley Chocolate Company » where you can find not only chocolate, but also caramels, fudges and lots more. Am I making you hungry? I know…
