Australia Tours from Sydney
This journey, beginning in Sydney and ending in Cairns, is a perfect blend of adventure, culture, and spectacular scenery. Whether you are a nature lover or an urban explorer, this Sydney to Cairns tour has something for everyone.
Sydney: The Starting Point
Sydney is a city full with hidden gems that are just waiting to be discovered. It is a bustling metropolis that also offers a range of natural settings. The Macleay, a charming hotel in Potts Point, serves as the tour’s starting point and is a great base for exploration.
Sydney and the Harbour life
Sydney is where it all begins. This Sydney to Cairns small group tour is possibly one of the best way to experience Australia’s East Coast. I’ve packed all my gear up, swimmers, snorkels and cameras and headed down to Sydney for an epic East Coast of Australia holiday with Via Travel Australia.
Via Travel 14 day Australia East Coast Tour kicks off with a bang from one of the most picturesque cities in Australia, Sydney which finds the iconic natural Sydney Harbour flow its way from the Tasman Sea till it makes contact with the Parramatta River some 30 kilometres inland.
Cities can be quite the rush but having being a person who has travelled and explored the depths of the city since a child, Sydney has some pretty cool secrets that are begging to be discovered!
You’re best off checking into your hotel at Potts Point called The Macleay the starting place of the tour and get adventuring straight away! One thing I never do is sit around especially when adventure calls!
Possibly one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in Australia, the Sydney Botanical Gardens are situated on the banks of Farm Cove where views of the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge are always in your field of vision as you walk amongst a lush oasis of trees, shrubs and flowering spectacles from all over Australia and the world.
Most footpaths in the Botanical Gardens lead to Sydney’s iconic Circular Quay so no matter which path you take, you’ll probably end up at the foot of the Sydney Opera House.
Having witnessed the lush gardens of Farm Cove’s banks, it’s now time to find a few hidden spots around Circular Quay!
For those of you that don’t know too much about the Sydney Opera House, it’s pretty much a really big set of white waves. (the best description I could come up with).
What’s cool about the Sydney Opera House is that you can access most areas around this awesome engineering feat from any point around the structure so feel free to do a loop then go for a stroll up the cascading stairs for even better views of the Opera House and surrounding Circular Quay as ferries dock and depart on a regular basis.
One of the things you are going to notice is a really big bridge dominating the background of your view and yes, that’s the Sydney Harbour Bridge often called the coat hanger by Sydney-siders. To truly get a unique perspective of this stunning structure, you’ll want to head over to The Rocks.

Sydney’s Night Life
Dawes Point Reserve offers a under the bridge view along with a view of the Sydney Opera House. Another cool perspective on the bridge can be seen from Argyle Street and Kendall Lane as the Harbour Bridge juts into view in all its awe.
Walking around any city can be quite tiring so why not sit down for a drink and a bite to eat! There are so many options when it comes to wining and dining in Sydney but a couple of my favourite places in Sydney are right within walking distant from Circular Quay. If you are looking for a night of fun, I cannot simply pass through Sydney without saying hi to my friends at the Munich Brauhaus just off Argyle Street.
For more chilled out vibes, one cannot leave Sydney without having a cocktail at the Opera Bar. Enjoy gorgeous views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge as ferries taxi back and forth into the night.
