Situation and Weather 

Welcome to Byron Bay! This holiday city is situated at 9h driving from Sydney, on the east coast. Byron Bay is known for its surf spots and its scuba diving spots. Even in winter this city feels like summer, with people who are mostly in holidays, enjoying the beach and the sea. Thanks to its geographical situation, Byron Bay is not so cold in winter and has an average of temperature of 15 degrees, which is not bad when we are talking about winter.

Attractions/What to do

One of its most popular attraction is the Lighthouse. On your way to this one, you’ll pass through the Cap Byron State Conservation Area Park. In this park, there are lots of vegetation and animals, which will make your way better because there are lots of stairs to overcome before the Lighthouse. Also, you’ll encountered the eastern point of Australia! This is exciting right? After all these efforts, the Lighthouse is finally in front of you! You can visit it to have an upper view on the sea and the city, or you can just stay on the floor and contemplate it. From June to November, you can also see whales from this point. So, have a seat and search for them!

Otherwise, there are lots of other activities to do in Byron Bay. You can do kayaking and exploring the sea for example. Or you can book a whale watching tour to see closer the whales. But what about taking a surf lesson? Or a yoga lesson? Or just relax on the beach? You have so much things to do in this city! Just go for your activity dream.

Food

Concerning the food in Byron Bay, you have a large choice of nationality. Mexican, Japanese, Italian, Seafood… As you’re staying 2 days here, you can try some of them.

There are as well lots of Ice cream shops to refresh yourself. You can enjoy your night in one of the Byron bars, dancing, have a drink, meet travellers… Do whatever you want!

To sleep

Now, if we talk about the accommodation, I think it’s one of the best during the tour. It is literally an apartment. You have a kitchen, a living room, a balcony, a washing machine and a dryer… So you can cook for yourself if you want. The beds are also really comfy and the location of the hotel is in the city centre, so near all shops and 5 minutes walk from the beach.

The Nomads hostel is also really friendly and as close to the beach as the previous one. It is a peaceful place where you can meet people from all over the world.
