Margaret River is famous for its high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon, known for its medium body, fragrant aromas, and refined elegance. These wines typically feature silky, fine-grained tannins and a bright, crisp acidity

The best approach is to dress casually and be prepared for all types of weather. Bring a hat and sunscreen, but also pack a jumper or sweater, as it can get cool—even in summer. As the locals say in Margaret River, “There’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.”

Yes, in fact, it is thought that it was named after Margaret Wyche in 1832, the cousin of John Garrett Bussell, the founder of Busselton.  The river’s mouth forms a small estuary, separated from the ocean by a sandbar that opens seasonally.

Margaret River is a vibrant market town and a renowned region known for its exceptional wine, world-class surfing, stunning coastline, expansive caves, and enchanting karri (eucalyptus) forests. The area is home to over 200 vineyards, producing award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Semillon wines.
