Welcome to the west coast of the Australian mainland. Your adventure begins in Perth. This morning, meet your leader and fellow travel crew, then begin your coastal journey south towards the laidback locale of Mandurah – Scenic drive from Perth through the charming seaside town of Mandurah, where we’ll take a coffee break at a café by the foreshore.

• Bussleton, home to the longest timber-piled jetty in the southern hemisphere

• Special visit to a local Family Farm (A real local experience). See mobs of Western Grey Kangaroos in their natural environment, and meet the friendly horses

Today is all about tasting what the Margaret River region has to offer. This section of Australia is home to some of the best artisanal flavours around, particularly their wines & cheese! So, luckily for you, the group will hit all three today! Take to the less travelled regional roads bound for a boutique winery, a local chocolate factory and local cheese shop, tasting some of the best going around. Margaret River’s wineries have built a reputation on their cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay, and you’ll soon know why. After a day of indulging, the evening is yours to enjoy how you’d like. Perhaps it’s time to explore the township’s restaurant and bar scene – be sure to ask your group leader for their recommendations.

• Mammoth Cave – Go underground and see remains of megafauna over fifty thousand years old found at Mammoth Cave.
• Boranup Karri Forest – gaze at the awe-inspiring trees towering over 65m tall. Bring your camera as this is one of the most beautiful pockets of forest in the southwest
• Hamelin Bay – Journey south to the picturesque Hamelin Bay where a jetty once stood. Built for exporting timber, this old jetty has been in ruins for many years. The Bay is now most famous for the friendly sting rays that cruise the shallow waters.
• Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse – Pass through the hilltop coastal town of Augusta with views of the Blackwood River on the way to Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. The lighthouse marks the point where two oceans meet; the Southern Ocean and Indian Ocean. Watch out for whales – southern right, humpback and blue whales can often be seen from the towers!
• Margaret River Town Centre – Some free time in town to stroll along the main street and maybe pick-up a special memento or gift to take home.

Strap in for a day of local flavours delights and nature! After a delicious local breakfast, indulge in a Boutique Winery Experience – either Redgate or Brown Hill. Both are family owned and operated and have an incredible range of award winning wines. Next, indulge a cheese & wine pairing. We will be matching Camembert & Vintage Cheddars from the Margaret River Dairy Co with some of our favourite boutique wines.

Later on experience first hand the subtle flavours of the local and famous extra virgin olive oil. Including unique citrus pressed oils and sensational infused oils. Try an incredible range of condiments & balsamic’s. Unwind and enjoy a delicious lunch accompanied with a glass of local beer or wine.

After lunch we begin the journey back to Perth City. We will make one or two stops to stretch the legs or enjoy a coffee. We arrive in Perth between 6:00PM – 6:30PM. Hotel drop offs and maybe connect with your fellow travel mates for a farewell dinner and drinks. Thanks for a great experience in one of Australia’s favourite corners!
